Dubai parking fees depend on the zone and time. Parkin lists two hours in A at AED 8.40, and AP at AED 8.40 off-peak or AED 12.60 at peak, as of 25 October 2026. Match the full code on the parking sign to the live quotation near your home, workplace or campus. Source: Parkin.

How much are Dubai parking fees in A/AP, B/BP and F?

The published duration row gives the charge for that stay. A and AP are roadside parking; B and BP are parking plots, meaning designated parking areas off the roadside. AP and BP are the premium versions in Parkin's current schedule, checked 25 October 2026.

These are complete published duration rows for the five codes. The longer-stay rows are their own prices: they are not instructions to multiply an hourly charge. A listed duration also does not explain how a ticket crossing a peak boundary is priced.

How do I identify my parking zone?

The full code on the sign beside the parking space identifies the payment area; the neighbourhood name alone does not. Parkin's payment conditions, checked 25 October 2026, require the ticket to match the parking type and code where the vehicle is parked.

Read the sign's complete area code, including its letters. A and AP are different tariff categories, even when two spaces serve the same destination. Then match the code, vehicle plate and requested duration in the payment screen.

Parkin's app instructions say to enable location services, open the map and select Pay Here on the zone card. The location suggestion helps find the zone; the posted sign gives you the code to compare with it. This distinction matters near a home, office or campus with several parking arrangements.

What changes at peak times?

Peak pricing changes the applicable tariff column, but the amount still comes from the zone's published duration row. Parkin's variable-parking policy introduced premium parking and peak-hour pricing on 4 April 2025. Its timetable below was checked on 25 October 2026; that access date is not a claim of a new tariff change.

The current A and F tables show identical amounts in both columns. AP, B and BP have differences. For a session spanning a boundary, such as arriving before the afternoon peak and leaving during it, request the live quotation. The examples below stay wholly inside one window.

What does a two-hour visit cost by app, WhatsApp or SMS?

A two-hour peak visit costs AED 8.40 in A or AED 12.60 in AP before the separate SMS charge. Parkin's current payment note, checked 25 October 2026, adds 30 fils, or AED 0.30, for payment through SMS and lists no additional channel fee for the smart application or WhatsApp.

Assume an ordinary chargeable Tuesday, with no public holiday or activated event tariff. Compare a 4pm to 6pm stay, entirely inside the afternoon peak, with a noon to 2pm stay, entirely inside the non-peak window.

Two-hour sessionA app/WhatsAppAP app/WhatsAppA by SMSAP by SMS
4pm to 6pm, peakAED 8.40AED 12.60AED 8.70AED 12.90
Noon to 2pm, non-peakAED 8.40AED 8.40AED 8.70AED 8.70

Source: withlida.com, 25 October 2026, calculated from Parkin's two-hour A/AP rows and payment-channel note, using its published time windows.

The peak SMS calculations are AED 8.40 + AED 0.30 = AED 8.70 for A and AED 12.60 + AED 0.30 = AED 12.90 for AP. The two-hour peak difference is AED 12.60 − AED 8.40 = AED 4.20. Off-peak, either code's SMS total is AED 8.40 + AED 0.30 = AED 8.70. Each example assumes one initial purchase and no extension.

For a regular-parking ledger, assume 20 identical two-hour peak visits, a chosen budgeting input rather than a claim about working days in a month:

  • A through app or WhatsApp: 20 × AED 8.40 = AED 168.
  • AP through app or WhatsApp: 20 × AED 12.60 = AED 252.
  • SMS adds 20 × AED 0.30 = AED 6, making those totals AED 174 and AED 258.
  • The difference is AED 84 with either equal channel assumption.

This illustration uses the same Parkin inputs, verified 25 October 2026. An all-day work pattern, campus timetable, mixed-zone week or extension needs its own duration quotations. Parking is a separate line in the Dubai household budget; Salik toll charges, fares and vehicle registration remain separate costs.

When is parking free in Dubai?

Parkin's general variable-parking policy lists 10pm to 8am, Sundays and public holidays as free periods. Those statements do not establish free parking at every facility: its current zone tables include longer paid windows and daily, around-the-clock schedules. Both operator pages were checked on 25 October 2026.

For A/AP, B/BP and F, retain the table's 8am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday operating window. The following exceptions show why the code and facility still matter.

Facility or codePublished operating windowFee or scope distinction

Q, International City8am to midnight, Monday to SaturdayIts published window continues beyond the general 10pm cutoff

For multistorey parking, the explicitly stated VAT calculation is AED 5 × 1.05 = AED 5.25 per hour and AED 40 × 1.05 = AED 42 for 24 hours. Parkin's subscription FAQ, checked the same day, also lists those VAT-inclusive amounts for non-subscribers.

Private facilities and malls have their own schedules. An event tariff applies when the operator activates and signs it for the relevant area. A general Sunday or public-holiday statement does not replace those facility terms. Parkin's policy explains the event-signage route; its General Information page publishes separate mall tables.

Seasonal hours need a date check too. As of October 2026, Parkin's general FAQ lists Ramadan paid hours of 8am to 6pm and 8pm to 10pm, with multistorey buildings payable around the clock. Confirm the applicable seasonal announcement and zone before using that split window.

How do I pay and extend parking?

Parkin lists payment through its app, WhatsApp and SMS, with extension methods for each. The process below follows its General Information instructions, checked 25 October 2026.

  1. Match the bay and vehicle

Read the full code from the sign and enter the correct plate details. In the Parkin app, enable location services, select the zone card's Pay Here button, and review the zone, plate and duration before paying.

  2. Choose the payment channel

In the app, the listed payment options include Parkin Wallet, Apple Pay, Google Pay and credit card. The worked app totals above assume an in-app payment method rather than routing through SMS.

For WhatsApp, Parkin lists Mahboub on +971 58 800 9090. Send the plate number and code, then the full area code and duration in hours, separated by spaces. Its illustrative two-hour format is A00000 000A 2. Substitute the actual vehicle and posted area code; the sample does not identify your bay. The source also describes scanning the sign's WhatsApp QR code.

For SMS, send the corresponding plate, area code and hours to 7275. Parkin's example uses the same A00000 000A 2 structure. SMS has the separately stated 30-fils channel charge.

  3. Read the ticket confirmation

The confirmation carries the ticket details. Match the code, vehicle and expiry to the intended stay. Parkin says the vehicle and zone cannot be changed after purchase; the duration can be extended.

  4. Extend while the ticket is valid

For SMS, send Y or ن to 7275 during the e-ticket's validity. For WhatsApp, use Extend/Repurchase or type Y. Parkin lists manual extension and auto-renewal in its app. Check the live extension quotation, especially if the extra time reaches another tariff window.

For regular home, workplace or campus parking, the app or website's parking history provides a record to reconcile with the household ledger. The same operator page, checked 25 October 2026, confirms that history route.

Do resident spaces, subscriptions and private car parks follow the same rules?

They need separate evidence: a public-zone ticket, a subscription's covered-zone terms and a building's resident-space agreement answer different questions.

For a home comparison, record whether a specific resident bay is included in the housing agreement, which vehicle can use it, visitor arrangements and any separately quoted charge. A nearby public space still needs the applicable public-zone payment or a valid product covering it. Residence near the space alone does not establish an exemption in this guide.

Parkin's subscription route, checked 25 October 2026, asks the user to select the area, product and duration, then complete the requirements and payment. It offers distinct routes for roadside/plot use, developer areas, multistorey buildings, students and staff of private educational establishments.

Its FAQ restricts the general roadside/plots subscription to A/C roadside and B/D plots, depending on the product, and excludes developer-area use. A multistorey subscription does not cover public parking spaces. Do not infer AP, BP or F coverage from a general product name: the selected product's current covered-zone terms settle that question.

No subscription fee is quoted here. The relevant comparison for a daily commuter or campus user is the live product quotation and covered-zone map against their actual paid visits.

For a private car park or mall, use that facility's entrance terms and payment quotation. For an event zone, use its activated tariff and signage. These are tariff-scope exceptions, so neither a roadside ticket nor a general free-period statement establishes their charge.

FAQ, checked 25 October 2026

How much is 1 hour parking in Dubai?

There is no single citywide amount. Parkin's current A and AP tables both show AED 4.20 off-peak; at peak, A is AED 4.20 and AP is AED 6.30. The correct code and duration row determine the charge. Source: Parkin, 25 October 2026.

Which day is parking free?

Parkin's general policy lists Sundays and public holidays. Multistorey buildings, zones with daily around-the-clock schedules and private-facility terms require their own check, so that statement is not a citywide exemption. Sources: Parkin's policy and zone tables, checked 25 October 2026.

What is a seasonal parking permit?

For budgeting, use Parkin's named subscription product, its duration and covered-zone terms. A subscription does not cover every parking type, and the current product quotation supplies its price. Source: Parkin subscriptions, 25 October 2026.

What is multi-storey parking?

It is parking arranged across levels of a building. Parkin's general multistorey schedule is payable 24/7, every day, at AED 5 plus 5% VAT per hour or AED 40 plus 5% VAT for 24 hours. Source: Parkin, 25 October 2026.
